KTR slams Speaker’s verdict on defection petitions, says Congress “Mocking Constitution”

Hyderabad, Jan 15 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday lashed out at the Congress leadership over the Speaker’s decision giving relief to MLAs facing defection allegations, accusing the ruling party of “making a mockery of the Constitution” and shielding defectors through political pressure.
In a post on social media, KTR alleged that Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy were “shamelessly defending” the MLAs who defected, and said the Congress had repeatedly undermined constitutional values.
He claimed the Congress had “corrupted the Speaker’s office” to prevent action against Kale Yadaiah and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, and said it reflected the party’s “moral bankruptcy.” KTR further alleged that the same “anti-democratic forces” had earlier blocked action against five other MLAs and were now once again disregarding constitutional norms.
