Kunbi certificate ultimatum: Maratha community threatens stir if demand not met

Mumbai, Sept 8 (UNI) Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil has demanded the Maharashtra government to begin issuing Kunbi caste certificates to the Maratha community under the Hyderabad Gazette provisions before September 17, observed as Marathwada Liberation Day.
If the government fails to comply, Patil warned the community would resume protests.
Patil recently ended a hunger strike in Mumbai, saying the government had accepted six of the eight demands made by the Maratha protesters, including the implementation of the Hyderabad Gazette. An official order was issued, and now Patil has asked government that it must start granting Kunbi certificates immediately.
