Patna, Jan 25 (UNI) RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Saturday said that law and order in Bihar has totally collapsed and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remained only a mute spectator.
Yadav said that hundreds rounds of cartridges were fired during shoot-out between former MLA Anant Singh and his supporters and Sonu Monu gang in Mokama on January 22.
It was most pathetic to note that Nitish Kumar remained a mute spectator and he was not in position to take steps in this connection, he added.
The RJD leader said it was all the more disturbing to note that Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha had described the shoot-out as small thing. If such a shoot-out involving two gangs and one of them headed by don turned former MLA Anant Singh, was a small thing, then firing of missile by criminals would awake the government, he asked.
As it is, more than hundred rounds of firing were reported during the shoot-out between former MLA Anant Singh and his supporters and Sonu Monu gang in Nauranga Jalalpur village in Mokama in Patna district of Bihar on January 22.
On January 24, Sonu was arrested and sent to jail while former MLA Anant Singh was also sent to jail after his surrender in connection with the case.
