Lok Sabha speaker to visit Shillong

Shillong, Feb 24 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will visit Shillong on February 25-26 and address members of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, following which he will visit the construction site of the new Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Building at Mawdiangdiang.
On Thursday, the speaker will inaugurate the ‘Outreach and Familiarization Programme for Local Bodies’ of Meghalaya and the other North Eastern States scheduled to be held at the
State Convention Centre, Pinewood Hotel, Shillong.

Itanagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, and four other candidates of the Saffron party are 'set’ to be declared elected unopposed as none of their opponents had filed nominations against them in the five Legislative Assembly Constituencies till Wednesday (March 27), the last date of filing nominations for the April 19 polls.
