New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) The Opposition members on Monday created ruckus in the Lok Sabha over various issues, forcing three adjournments and the last one for the day.
As soon as the House re-assembled at 3 pm, Presiding Officer Sandhya Ray adjourned the House for the day when the Opposition members continued with their protest.
The Lok Sabha witnessed three adjournments first till 12 PM, the second till 2 PM and the third till 3 PM.
Earlier, as soon as the House re-convened at 2 pm, the Opposition raised slogans and amid the uproar, Presiding Officer Sandhya Rai called the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to speak.
The Minister stood up to reply on the Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024, but the Opposition members continued with their protest, and the Chair adjourned the House till 3 pm.
Earlier, at 12, the House could not take up the Zero Hour as Opposition members started raising slogans against the government on Gautam Adani issue. The agitating members trooped into the well of the House.
Amid the ruckus, Presiding Officer Sandhya Ray called for the papers to be laid on the table of the House. After the papers were laid, the Chair urged the agitating members to go back to their seats and called the House to proceed with the Zero Hour.
But the Opposition members did not pay heed to her request and continued raising slogans and creaking ruckus.
Sandhya Ray then adjourned the house till 2 pm.
As soon as the Lower House met for the day at 11 am, the Opposition members started raising some issues, which could not be heard clearly. On this, Speaker OM Birla adjourned the House till 12 noon.
