New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) A voter turnout of 39.13 percent was recorded till 1 PM on Saturday in 58 constituencies in six states and two Union territories, where polling is underway in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election.
West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout at 54.80 percent while Delhi recorded the lowest at 34.37 percent, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Uttar Pradesh recorded a voter turnout of 37.23 percent, Jharkhand 42.54 percent, Bihar 36.48 percent, Jammu and Kashmir 36.48 percent, and Haryana 8.31 percent, the EC data said.
Amid, scorching heat in the National capital, the voter turnout reached the lowest by 1 PM with 1.52 crore eligible voters participating at over 13,000 polling booths.
Voter turnout till 1 PM in seven constituencies of Delhi is recorded at 34.37 percent.
According to ECI, the Chandni Chowk Lok sabha constituency recorded 32.18 percent , East Delhi 34.24 percent, New Delhi 31.66 percent, North East Delhi 37.31 percent, North West Delhi 35.72 percent, South Delhi 33.49 percent adnd West Delhi - 34.12 percent.
BJP's Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, Congress's Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj, and Aam Aadmi Party's Somnath Bharti are among the prominent candidates in the fray in the national capital.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress are jointly contesting against BJP in Delhi, with AAP contesting four seats and Congress three seats, according to their alliance formula.
