Lucknow Super Giants ready to host Delhi Capitals

Lucknow, Mar 31 (UNI) Lucknow is famous for its Tehzeeb or etiquette, as we call it in English. But all the niceties and mannerisms will be landing out of the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday when Lucknow Super Giants play their first-ever IPL home game against Delhi Capitals in The City of Nawabs.
KL Rahul, who embodies the elegance and spirit of Lucknow in his batting, will continue to don the captain’s hat for LSG. He will be aided by experienced gloveman Quinton de Kock at the top of the order this season.
However, QdK is set to miss the opener due to national duties, reported LSG portal.
Rahul and de Kock at the top are one of LSG’s biggest strengths and the players featured among the top run-scorers in our debut IPL season last year.
Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, will miss their regular captain Rishabh Pant who is yet to fully recover from a horrific car accident. DC are still a robust side capable of packing a solid punch with David Warner, one of the original Daredevils, spearheading the side in Pant’s absence.
LSG signing Nicholas Pooran along with Deepak Hooda are expected to play key roles in the middle order in front of 50,000 spectators on Saturday.
Then there is England’s World Cup-winning fast bowler Mark Wood and home-grown pacer Avesh Khan in the bowling department.
Not to forget spin magicians Amit Mishra and Ravi Bishnoi, who will want to choke the flow of runs for the opposition.
The match-winning all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya can send shivers down the spine of the opposition on any given day and will be available as opener.
After hopefully getting the home record straight nice and early against Capitals, LSG will travel to Chennai to take on four-time champions CSK in their own den on Monday.
LSG boast a perfect record against both Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. They defeated DC by six wickets followed by a six-run victory against them in their second match of the league stage.
Against CSK, LSG chased down 210 courtesy of a classy 99-run opening stand between KL and QdK.
