Pune, Dec 12 (UNI) Putting speculations about a rift in the Pawar family to rest following his rebellion, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP (AP) president Ajit Pawar along wih his family flew to New Delhi to wish his uncle and rival NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar on his 84th birthday on Thursday.
Ajit Pawar accompanied by his wife and Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar and their two sons along with his senior party leaders -- Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and Chhagan Bhujbal -- went to his uncle's house in New Delhi to extend wishes as Pawar Senior turned 85, said NCP (AP)'s city district president Deepak Mankar here.
He said that there could be a political rift between two leaders, but the gathering of all members of a family together today have made it clear that there is no rift in the Pawar family, he affirmed.
Everyone had a discussion with Sharad Pawar for half an hour there, he noted.
Interacting with media after the meeting with Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar said that Pawar Senior asked him about expansion of the Maharashtra Cabinet and upcoming winter session of the state assembly.
The state cabinet will be expanded on December 14 and the winter session of the Assembly will commence from December 16, he added.
