Maha: Amit Shah takes swipe at Congress over its 5 promises

Sangli, Nov 8 (UNI) Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader, Amit Shah, on Saturday took a swipe at the opposition Congress party over its 'Panchsutri' (five promises), claiming that they were only imaginary and would never be fulfilled but the promises given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been fulfilled.
Addressing an election rally at Shirala in the district this afternoon, he further claimed that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had personally described the promises made by his party as 'imaginary' and they would never be fulfilled.
On other hand, the ruling BJP had delivered all assurances given by Modi, he claimed.
Criticising the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) comprising NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress, the BJP leader also claimed that NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar wanted to make his daughter Supriya Sule chief minister and Shivaji Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray wanted his son Aaditya on the post while there were many aspirants for the chief minister's post in Congress party.
Taking aim at Sharad Pawar and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, he recalled that they had invited both the leaders for inaugural function of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya but both the leaders have not visited the temple so far because they are scared of losing their vote bank, he claimed.
Maharashtra could become the number one state in the country only under the leadership of Modi if the people of the state re-elect the Mahayuti government and BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis with a majority of votes, he added.
Shah also mentioned about Pawar and other opposition leaders' objection to the changing of the name of Aurangabad city in Marathwada region of Maharashtra to Sambhajinagar and expressed his resolve to change the name to Sambhajinagar.
