Maha: LoP alleges about irregular transfers in Revenue Dept

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, on Thursday alleged that in view of upcoming Assembly election, mass transfers are going on in the Revenue department without following any rules.
In a statement, he stated that Section 3(1) of the Maharashtra Government Employees Transfer Regulations and Prevention of Delay in Discharge of Government Duties Act, 2005 provides that the tenure of any officer in one post shall be of / for three years. Also, there is a provision that transfer from one office or one department to another department can be done upon completion of six years.
Section 4 of this Act shall not be transferable unless the period of three years has been completed. Section 4 (4) provides that transfers of officers and employees shall be made once in a year only in the months of April and May.
