Maha: OBC leaders to hold statewide meet over Gazetteer issue

Mumbai Sep 7 (UNI) After the state government issued an order implementing the Hyderabad Gazetteer, OBC organisations across Maharashtra have called a meeting on September 12 at Nagpur to decide their next course of action to safeguard OBC reservation.
The agitation is expected to begin with a massive morcha (rally), and the battle will be fought both legally and through street protests, Congress leader and prominent OBC representative Vijay Wadettiwar announced.
The government’s decision was announced after Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil launched an indefinite hunger strike in Mumbai, pressing for eight key demands, six of which were accepted by the state. Among them was the implementation of the Hyderabad Gazetteer, for which an official order has now been issued.
