Maha: One Naxalite gunned down in encounter in Gadchiroli

Gadchiroli/Nagpur, Apr 1 (UNI) One Naxalite was killed on Saturday in a fierce encounter with security forces in a dense forest in Gadchiroli district, a senior police official said.
The encounter broke out today at around 10 am near Kiyarkoti forest in Bhamragarh tehsil of Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district.
Based on specific in-puts, the Gadchiroli police launched a search operation in the forest. As soon as the ultras spotted police, they opened fire, following which the C-60 commandos retaliated. One Naxal was killed, the official said, adding that the battle is still going on. Death toll may rise, he said.
