Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday sanctioned a proposal of Rs 2,766 crore for 1,950 works to be carried out as effective countermeasures against natural calamities.
During the meeting of State Disaster Management Authority held here, he gave approval for various works which include crack prevention, lightning protection, flood protection wall, small bridges work, deepening of drains, recharging of ground water for drought relief, ponds repair and afforestation.
The Chief Minister assured that there will be no shortage of funds for these preventive measures against natural calamities.
