Maha: Rs 50 lakh cash seized in Akola during civic polls

Akola, Jan 14 (UNI) Police on Wednesday night seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 50 lakh from the Vidya Nagar area of Maharashtra's Akola, just hours before voting for the Akola Municipal Corporation elections, officials said.
The seizure was made by Khadan Police following a tip-off about the movement of a large amount of cash during the election period.
Acting on the information, the police conducted a raid and intercepted a person carrying the cash. The individual is currently being questioned, police added.
