Malviya Nagar fire: Delhi revenue department inspects guest houses, hotels, restaurants; notices served to 72 violating norms

New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI) Cracking down on illegally operating B&B establishments, Guest Houses, and restaurants in the wake of the Malviya Nagar fire tragedy, the Delhi government's revenue department inspected 72 such sites across the national capital, and served notices to them based on the violations, and also took action including demolitions and sealing of premises.
The revenue department swung into action following Wednesday's fire tragedy at Hauz Rani, in Malviya Nagar, that left 21 people dead, including 13 foreign nationals, and on Friday 72 sites were inspected and were served notices.
According to the department’s report, as per the district wise data, in North district a total of 11 sites were inspected and notices issues were issued. In Old Delhi district, total six sites were inspected, ⁠in Outer North District three sites were inspected and notices issues to the defaulters, while demolition was also carried out.
