Kolkata, Dec 11 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday thanked those India bloc leaders who reposed their confidence in her as the leader of the non-BJP coalition in the country.
"I am indebted to everyone for those who have shown confidence in me to lead the non-BJP coalition in the country. I also pray for their good health. I want them as well as their party to stay well. I also want INDIA to stay well," the Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee said during a programme in East Medinipur.
The Chief Minister is on a three-day official visit to the coastal town of Digha, a tourist resort where the government was building a temple of Lord Jagannath.
Banerjee's statement came a few days after former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav expressed his solidarity with the TMC chairman to lead the India bloc.
" I led the formation of the INDIA bloc and now it is up to those leading the bloc to lead it. If they can not run the bloc, what can I do? I would just say that everyone needs to be taken along," she reiterated.
