Man booked for impersonating brother, forging official documents in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 7 (UNI) In an unusual case of impersonation and document forgery, the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) today registered a case against a man for allegedly posing as his own brother and producing fake documents to support the claim.
According to the EoW, a written complaint was received alleging that Amir Ahmad Munshi, who falsely claimed to be the son of Late Ghulam Ahmad Munshi, was in fact the son of Showkat Hussain Bhat, a resident of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, Srinagar.
The accused had allegedly prepared and submitted forged documents, including a Municipal Date of Birth Certificate, Domicile Certificate, School Records, Voter List, and Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), before a competent court in Srinagar.

Pakistan-backed arms smuggling module busted in Amritsar; five held with foreign weapons

Chandigarh, May 13 (UNI) In a significant breakthrough against cross-border smuggling networks, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a Pakistan-backed illegal arms module. The operation led to the arrest of five individuals, including a minor, and the recovery of six sophisticated foreign-made pistols along with 14 live cartridges. The intelligence-led operation was executed by the Anti-Narcotics Operation Cell in the Cantonment area.
