Imphal, April 18 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister N Biren on Sunday congratulated Saikhom Mirabai Chanu for creating a new world record in clean and jerk while also bettering own national record en route winning a bronze medal in the 49 Kg category at the Asian Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent.
Letpao Haokip, Minister Sports said in a message that it is a moment of pride and happiness for Manipur and India as a whole. "I convey my congratulatory message to her for such a remarkable achievement, and wish her all the best in days to come. And I also wish that may she keep inspiring the youth, especially the upcoming players, with such great milestones," he said.
