Artist & Curatorial Perspectives
Speaking about the exhibition, Mr. Ravindra Mardia says,
“Over the years, I have had the privilege of building a vast and diverse collection of artworks from across India. This collection is not driven by acquisition alone, but by connection—connection with the artist, the process, and the philosophy behind each work. It includes masterpieces by senior and established artists as well as works by highly talented emerging artists who I believe will shape the future of Indian art.”
Highlighting the curatorial vision, he adds,
“With decades of critical experience, Johny ML brings intellectual depth and sensitivity, creating a meaningful dialogue between senior masters and emerging artists. His curatorial vision strengthens the exhibition’s intent and adds credibility and thoughtful perspective.”
Curatorial Theme
Curator Johny ML identifies HOPE as the central theme of the exhibition. In his catalogue essay, he reflects on the fragile realities of contemporary life and the quiet optimism embedded in everyday experiences.
“In our precarious times, anything could happen to anybody… Yet each day we wake up to familiar sounds and routines that remind us we are alive. We smile. We have hope. In this exhibition, one could see how hope is lighting up every canvas,” he writes.
Inaugural Ceremony & Public Programme
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Sushma Bahl, with Guests of Honour including Kiran Mohan (Curator, Dhoomimal Gallery), Vladimir Zaitsev (Art Historian), Sunil Kumar (Founder Director, Folkartopedia), and Lalit Suri (Entrepreneur and Art Collector).
As part of the public programme, curatorial walkthroughs by Johny ML are being conducted every evening, offering visitors deeper insight into the works and themes. Additionally, a panel discussion on contemporary practices will take place on 11 January 2026 at 5:00 pm at the gallery.
The exhibition is currently open to the public and invites art lovers, collectors, students, and critics to experience a thoughtful and resonant exploration of hope through contemporary Indian art.
