Militants nabbed in Manipur

IMPHAL, Oct 11 (UNI) Security forces carried out a series of successful operations across Manipur today, recovering arms, ammunition and arresting several active cadres of proscribed outfits and drug peddlers involved in criminal activities.
During an operation at Ngalrangbam Loukon IVR, connecting Khongakhul and Longa Koireng villages under Patsoi Police Station, Imphal West district, the security forces recovered one .303 rifle with a magazine, one modified .303 rifle with a magazine, five pistols with magazines, five helmets, four bulletproof vests cum magazine pouches, eight plates suspected to be used as bulletproof protection, one BAOFENG handheld radio set with charger, ten pairs of camouflage pants and shirts, and four bags.
Authorities said that intelligence-based combing, cordon, and search operations are being intensified across the state to curb extortion and other unlawful activities.
