Mitchell out of remaining ODIs, Nicholls steps in

Christchurch, Nov 18 (UNI) New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the ODI series against the West Indies after scans confirmed a minor groin tear.
As per the New Zealand Cricket (NZC), Mitchell experienced discomfort in his thigh while scoring his seventh ODI century in Sunday’s seven-run win over West Indies at Hagley Oval, and did not return to the field for the second innings.
Mitchell did not travel with the squad to Napier on Monday and instead underwent a scan in Christchurch, where the minor tear was detected. He is expected to undergo a two-week rehabilitation programme.
