Mizoram: Rail link triggers sharp surge in tourist arrivals

Aizawl, Jan 21(UNI): Mizoram recorded its highest-ever annual tourist footfall in 2025, as more than 8.41 lakh visitors traveled to the state during the year, said official data released by the Tourism Department on Wednesday.

Tourism Director R. Lalrodingi said the state received a total of 8,41,323 tourists during the year, comprising 8,29,839 domestic visitors and 11,484 foreign tourists. The figures represent a sharp year-on-year rise, with domestic tourist visits registering an increase of 96.69 per cent, while foreign tourist arrivals rose by 112.11 per cent compared to 2024.
