Lucknow, Jul 12 (UNI) The monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was expected to commence from August 20 with social distancing norms, sources said here on Sunday.
A decision to this was taken at the state cabinet through by circulation on Saturday night.
The sources further said here that the norms and guidelines would be decided later on and state legislature would follow the same norms like the Parliament.
However, there were also reports that the government could also propose for online holding of the session or the members could be accommodated in the visitors and press galleries for maintaining social distancing.
During a very short session, expected for three to four days, the UP legislature would pass the first supplementary budgetary grants and approve around a dozen of Bill's for which Ordinances have been promulgated when the houses were not in session.
The session is necessary as per the parliamentary norms as a house has to sit within six months of the last session.
The budget session of the UP Assembly was adjourned sine die on February 28.
