Mumbai Rains: Water levels in city's 7 lakes cross 73pc mark amid consistent heavy showers

Mumbai, July 9 (UNI) Mumbai’s water reserves received a significant boost as lake levels supplying the city crossed 73 per cent of their total useful storage capacity today.
According to the BMC Hydraulic Department, the seven lakes that supply water to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region now hold over 10.5 lakh million litres of water, offering much-needed relief in the middle of the monsoon season.
The most notable development came from Modak Sagar Lake, which began overflowing early this morning at around 6:27 am.
