National Lok Adalat in Aurangabad settles over 3,600 cases; recover over Rs 44 Cr

Ch. Sambhajinagar, Dec 15 (UNI) A district-level National Lok Adalat held here resulted in the amicable settlement of thousands of cases and the recovery of more than Rs 44 crore, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Vaishali Phadnis said today.
The Lok Adalat was organised in accordance with the directives of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, and the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai.
According to Vaishali Phadnis, a total of 3,626 cases were resolved during the National Lok Adalat. Of these, 2,856 were pending cases before various courts, while 770 were pre-litigation disputes. The settlements led to a total recovery of Rs 44,43,85,983.
