Naveen announces interest-free loan for Odisha Women SHGs

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29 (UNI) In a historic decision Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced that the Odisha government will provide interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh to women Self-Help Group (SHG) members under the Mission Shakti programme.
Earlier, the interest-free loan was limited to Rs.3 lakh for the women SHG members.The new interest-free loan up to Rs.5 lakh will be made effective from April 1, 2022, Patnaik said
The chief minister said with the new provisions of interest-free loan up to Rs.5 lakh, SHG women members would be able to set up better business establishments. The government’s decision will also empower the women and boost the rural economy in the state, Patnaik said.
