Kathmandu, Jul 13 (UNI) Nepalese government has decided to extend its ban on Indian channels, Information and communication Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said here Monday.
The ban would continue until Indian channels 'change their approach', he added.
Khatiwada accused Indian news channels of spreading rumours about Prime Minister KP Sharma 'Oli', in response to Nepal's decision to amend its political map. Nepal altered its political map through a constitution amendment act last month.
"I have instructed multi-system operators to continue with the ban on Indian news channels. The ban on Indian channels will continue until the situation normalises. Indian channels spreading rumors about PM Oli in response to his decision to amend Nepal's map. The ban will continue until there is a change in approach from Indian channels," said the Minister.
