Ness Wadia College, Bharati University enter semifinals

Pune, Jan 20 ( UNI) Ness Wadia College and Bharati Vidyapeeth booked their places in the semifinals of the cricket competition at the 8th National-level Vishwanath Sports Meet (VSM–2026) after registering emphatic victories in the quarterfinal matches played on Tuesday.
In the first quarterfinal held at the MIT Art, Design and Technology University ground, Ness Wadia College defeated MES Wadia College, Pune by 42 runs to advance to the semifinals. Batting first, Ness Wadia posted a commanding total of 186 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. Siddhant Memane starred with the bat, scoring 57 off 45 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes, while Vedant Dedge provided solid support with 51 off 36 balls. For MES Wadia, skipper Abhi Jadhav led the bowling attack with 3 for 34, but the target proved challenging.
Chasing 187, MES Wadia fought hard but failed to maintain the required run rate. Neeraj Nimbalkar top-scored with 50 off 50 balls, while Prathamesh Kuvar contributed 37 off 31 balls. However, disciplined bowling from Ness Wadia restricted MES Wadia to 144 for 6 in 20 overs. Pranav Lokhande was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for 20 runs, sealing the victory for his side.
