New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) The Union government on Thursday filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court opposing petitions that have called for the criminalisation of marital rape in India
In the counter-affidavit filed before the bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra the Union Home Ministry said that the existing Indian rape law carves out an exception for sexual relations between a husband and wife.
