Hyderabad, Dec 11 (UNI) The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) on Thursday announced that IMTEX Forming 2026, Asia’s largest exhibition on metal forming and manufacturing technologies, will be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru from January 21 to 25, 2026.
The biennial event will host over 600 exhibitors from 20 countries, occupying 46,000 sq. metres across four exhibition halls, the Association said in a release here.
This edition will feature several concurrent shows, including Tooltech, Digital Manufacturing, Weldexpo (in association with IIW–India), and two co-located exhibitions—Moldex India and Fastenex India—organized by Messe Stuttgart.
IMTEX Forming 2026 will also include parallel events such as the 9th International Seminar on Forming Technology on January 22–23, i2 Academia Square aimed at showcasing R&D from academic institutions, and Jagruti–IMTMA Youth Programme, which seeks to familiarize young professionals with the latest advancements in manufacturing.
Industry participation will be strengthened by country pavilions from Germany, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan, presenting cutting-edge forming and manufacturing technologies.
Visitors from key sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defence, medical equipment, railways, construction equipment, heavy engineering, electricals, and consumer goods are expected to attend.
In a press conference here, IMTMA President Mohini Kelkar highlighted the growing importance of the metal forming segment in India’s machine tool market. “Metal forming currently accounts for 29% of the Indian machine tool market, and the segment is expected to grow measurably”.
In FY25, consumption reached ₹9,139 crore, with production at ₹2,696 crore. Exports rose about 6% year-on-year, led by presses, followed by press brakes, bending machines, and shearing machines,” she said.
IMTMA Director General & CEO Jibak Dasgupta said “Laser and laser-based applications are seeing increasing acceptance across industries. Exhibitors will showcase fibre laser machines, precision levellers, pick-and-place units, servo presses, machine monitoring systems, welding technologies, and 3D printing solutions”.
IMTEX Forming 2026 will further accelerate manufacturing of homegrown products and their exports, he said.
The five-day event is positioned as a key platform for advancing digital transformation and high-productivity solutions in the manufacturing sector.
