RINL-VSP CMD releases annual training calendar for 2024–25

Visakhapatnam, April 30 (UNI) Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL)-Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) Chairman and Managing Director Atul Bhatt released the annual training calendar (April'24 to March'25) for the year 2024–25 at the Learning and Development Centre (L&DC) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Atul appreciated the efforts of L&DC in bringing out the calendar.

He also lauded the efforts of the entire L&DC team in imparting the required quality training to the youngsters, which will enable them to pursue a bright career.

Briefing on the training activities on the occasion, L&DC Department Head and General Manager (Training), Ms. N. Bhanu, said the training calendar contains 304 training programmes to be conducted during 2024–25 by the centre in the areas of skill development, technology, computer, safety, and health-related training programmes.

Guidance from the Training Advisory Committee (TAC), headed by the CGM (Works) In-Charge, and input from the Training Needs Identification (TNI) Survey conducted amongst all departments of the plant were used to draw up the annual training plan, she added.

During 2023–24, L&DC conducted almost 650 programmes covering 14,000 employees.

To fulfil the Skill India initiatives and organise skill development training programmes and certifications as per MoUs with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), New Delhi, and the Indian Iron and Steel Sector Skill Council (IISSSC), Kolkata.

It also provides training for apprentices over 1019 per year, as required under the Apprentice Act of 1961.

It also conducts skill tests for the selection of a skilled or semi-skilled contractual workforce. 2500 students were provided internships in 2023–24.

RINL Director (Personnel) SC Pandey, Independent Director SK Hirani and Ghanshyam Singh, CGM (Works) In-Charge Ajay Kumar Sobti, CGM (HR) G Gandhi, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
