Mumbai, April 26 (UNI) Snapping a winning streak of last five sessions, the BSE Sensex on Friday, the last session of the week, tanked 609.28 pts to settle at 73730.16 amid mixed global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 150.40 pts at 22,419.95.
The day opened on a strong note, as the Sensex rallied 170 pts at 74509.31. It was registered days high at 74515.91, rising 176 pts. Later, it was nosedived 723 pts at 73616.65, days low, before closing at 73730.16, sliding 609.28 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 22,620.40 and 22,385.55 pts respectively.
The stocks that slipped were Auto by 0.25 pc followed by Telecommunications by 0.15 pc, Bankex by 0.07 pc and Utilities by 0.09 pc.
In 30 scrips, 7 advanced, while 23 declined.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 7.68 pc to Rs 6733.55, Bajaj Finserv by 3.67 pc to Rs 1595, IndusInd bank by 3.08 pc to Rs 1450, Nestle India Ltd by 2.64 pc to Rs 2495 and M & M by 1.94 pc to Rs 2055.
The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 7.70 pc to Rs 1281.70, Wipro by 0.81 pc to Rs 464.75, Axis Bank by 0.54 pc to Rs 1133.45 and Ultracemco by 0.53 pc to Rs 9735.35.
A mixed trend was witnessed Asian market as Hang Seng was up 2.08 pc followed Taiwan Weighted by 1.31 pc while Strait times fell by 0.23 pc and Set Composite by 0.32 pc.
