Kakinada, Oct 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually inaugurated the state-of-the-art Pen-G manufacturing facility of Lyfius Pharma, a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma Limited, at Kakinada.
With an annual production capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes (MT), the facility was inaugurated by Modi in the presence of Union Health & Family welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda and Union Labour Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the company said in a release here.
Set up under the Government of India’s PLI Scheme at investment of Rs 2,500 crore, the facility will ramp up commercial production in FY25, enhancing domestic production of critical Key starting Materials (KSMs), Drug Intermediates (DIs), and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
This is one of the largest fermentation-based antibiotic intermediates plant in India with cutting edge technology, including high-volume fermenters and automated starch & glucose plant.
