Visakhapatnam Port set to achieve its target of 90 MMT for 2024-25 fiscal year: Port Secy

Visakhapatnam, Dec 10 (UNI) The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) is making remarkable strides towards achieving its target of 90 million metric tonnes (MMT) for the fiscal year 2024-25.
As of now, VPA has already handled 55 MMT in just 249 days, setting a record in the port’s history, Port Secretary T Venu Gopal said in a release here on Tuesday.
Last year, VPA achieved its highest-ever cargo handling of 81.09 MMT.
To strengthen this momentum, VPA had organized a Stakeholders’ Meet here on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, Dr M Angamuthu, Chairperson, VPA, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of stakeholders, State and District Administrations, and Public Sector Undertakings like Railways, Customs, and NHAI.
He appreciated their support in achieving this milestone and emphasized the need for continued collaboration to reach greater heights.
Dr Angamuthu outlined VPA’s commitment to port-led growth, aligning with the visions of Prime Minister’s Maritime India Vision 2047 and Chief Minister’s Swarna Andhra Pradesh.
He highlighted VPA’s strategic plans to foster industrial development for the benefit of the city and the nation.
The Chairperson invited stakeholders to share inputs for finalizing a comprehensive master plan, which is set to be completed by February 2025.

Encore-Alcom new manufacturing plant begins operations in Gujarat

Hyderabad, Jan 23 (UNI) Hyderabad-based Encore-Alcom, a leading aluminum doors and windows manufacturer, on Thursday announced that its new manufacturing plant, India's first facility with auto robotic technology, began operations in Surat, Gujarat.
This India’s largest facility for the manufacturing of aluminum doors and windows is spread over 1,84,000 square feet and employs 500 people, the company said in a release here.
