U19 Asia Cup: Pakistan set challenging target of 282 runs for India

Dubai, Nov 30 (UNI) Pakistan U19 posted a formidable 281/7 in their 50 overs, led by a scintillating 159 off 147 balls by Shahzaib Khan in the third Group A match of the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Electing to bat first, Pakistan U19’s innings revolved around Shahzaib Khan, who struck 10 sixes and five boundaries to anchor the innings.
Opener Usman Khan chipped in with 60 runs, forming a vital 160-run partnership with Shahzaib. For India, Samarth Nagaraj impressed with figures of 3/45, while Ayush Mhatre claimed two crucial wickets.
In response, India U19 stumbled early in their chase, losing two wickets for just 28 runs in 4.3 overs. Openers Ayush Mhatre (20 off 14) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (1 off 9) fell to Abdul Subhan and Ali Raza, respectively.
The onus now lies on skipper Mohamed Amaan and the middle order to steer the innings as they require 254 more runs to win with plenty of overs in hand.
The match promises an exciting finish as India looks to recover from a shaky start while Pakistan eyes their first victory in the tournament.
