Shami back in action, Shahbaz hits 92 for Bengal against MP in Ranji Trophy

Indore, Nov 13 (UNI) India star pacer Mohammad Shami made a remarkable return to competitive cricket for Bengal while all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed played a fighting knock of 92 against Madhya Pradesh on Day 1 in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match here on Wednesday.
Shami, who was out of competitive action since India’s ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad last November, bowled 10 overs including a maiden while giving away 34 runs.
While other Bengal batters found the going tough, Shahbaz hit 16 fours and 1 six in his 80-ball innings, while skipper Anustup Majumdar (44) also impressed as Bengal scored 228 in their first inning.

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 23 (UNI) Gongadi Trisha's composed knock of 49 runs and a scintillating display of bowling by Shabnam Shaki and company propelled India to a commanding 60-run victory over Sri Lanka in their Group A clash at the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 on Thursday. The win secured India’s place in the Super Six stage as unbeaten group leaders.
Batting first at the Bayuemas Oval after losing the toss, India were in trouble early, with Pramudi Methsara reducing them to 17/2 in the fourth over. Trisha, however, stood tall amid the chaos, stitching a crucial 31-run partnership with skipper Niki Prasad before steadying the innings further.
