NEHU students suspend hunger strike after 16 days

Shillong, Nov 20 (UNI) Agitating students of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya have temporarily suspended their indefinite hunger strike after 16 days of protest due to the deteriorating health conditions of the hunger strikers.

The NEHU Students’ Union (NEHUSU), which spearheaded the hunger strike over the demand for immediate removal of Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, alleging him of indulging in “mismanagement of funds” and “illegal appointments” of university officials.
