292 projects worth over Rs 2300 cr approved for Arunachal under VVP: Chowna Mein

Itanagar, Feb 9 (UNI) Asserting that Arunachal Pradesh is one of the major beneficiaries of the Centre’s Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP), Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein informed the Assembly on Friday that so far, 292 projects worth over Rs 2300 crore have been approved for 156 villages, out of the the 455 priority villages identified under VVP in this border state, which are located on the country’s northern border.
"The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has recently approved 187 projects for 156 villages, with an estimated cost of Rs 104.99 crore. These projects include: 67 tourism projects of Rs 30.60 crore, 114 village infrastructure schemes of Rs 74.15 crore, and six eco-regeneration schemes of Rs 24 lakh.
In addition, 105 roads, covering 1,022 km and connecting 125 habitations, with an estimated cost of Rs 2,205 crore have also been sanctioned under VVP. This will be implemented by Rural Works Department (RWD),” Mein said while participating in the motion of thanks to the governor's address in the Assembly today.

Kumar, while addressing a public meeting in favour of NDA candidate Jeetan Ram Manjhi for Lok Sabha election 2024, said that eight lakhs government jobs were given to youth in Bihar in 18 years of his tenure as Chief Minister. His government was committed to provide government jobs to youth as well as creating employment opportunities for them, he added.
