Mentally ill man kills 3 in Arunachal Hospital

Itanagar, Nov 14 (UNI) A dao (sharp-edged weapon)-wielding mentally unstable man allegedly killed three persons, including his wife and toddler daughter, at a State-run Hospital in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.
The tragic incident that happened at District Hospital, Seppa in East Kameng district, left two others including a senior police officer critically injured, East Kameng SP Kamdam Sikom said.
The SP said that the accused, Nikam Sangbia (40) of Sangbia village, Bameng was arrested and taken into police custody.
The deceased have been identified as Nikam Sangbia's wife Tade Sangbia (38), daughter Nakia Sangbia (2), and Pakha Welly (45).
The critically wounded police officer, Inspector Minli Geyi, OC, Seppa Police Station, and Fei Beyong, a Chowkidar have been referred to TRIHMS, Naharlagun for improved treatment, the SP said.
The intention behind the homicides has not been known yet, Sikom said.
