Kolkata, Dec 19 (UNI): Police have unearthed a fake passport racket and arrested five suspects, official sources said on Thursday. The suspects allegedly sold passports between Rs 2 and Rs 5 lakh, depending on the client capacity and urgency of the buyers.
A suspect, identified as Dipankar Das, a resident of Parnashree in South Kolkata's Behala area was arrested on Wednesday, who allegedly issued 73 fake passports to the infiltrators from Bangladesh, an official verification revealed.
Police also seized several incriminating documents, computers, seals of different PSU banks, and photocopies of 36 Indian passports, Schengen and UK visas.
