Assam Rifles celebrates 189th Raising Day

Shillong, Mar 24 (UNI) The Assam Rifles, the oldest and most decorated paramilitary force in India, celebrated its 189th Raising Day on Sunday at its headquarters here in the Meghalaya capital and across the North-East.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has extended his greetings to the personnel of Assam Rifles and their family members on the Raising Day.
“The ever-vigilant and victorious force has stood as a bulwark guarding the nation's internal security in the Northeast and securing the people. Salute to the lion-heart soldiers, who laid down their lives for the motherland,” Shah posted on X.
