Gadkari approves Rs 6728.33 Cr for construction of 8 stretches of NH-913 in Arunachal

Itanagar, Feb 29 (UNI) The Centre has granted an allocation of over Rs 6728.33 crore for construction of eight stretches on NH-913 (Frontier Highway) as Intermediate Lane Road, spanning 305.50 Km on the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode in Arunachal Pradesh.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari in a social post said that in Arunachal Pradesh, an allocation of Rs 6728.33 crore has been granted for constructing 8 stretches on NH-913 (Frontier Highway) as Intermediate Lane Road, spanning 305.50 Km on EPC mode.
He said this development aims to enhance connectivity to border areas, fostering socio-economic progress. The Frontier Highway construction is anticipated to curb migration, encouraging reverse habitation towards Arunachal Pradesh’s border regions.
Furthermore, these Frontier Highway stretches will establish crucial road infrastructure linking significant river basins, facilitating the development of numerous hydropower projects in the state, the Minister said.
This predominantly greenfield road will connect sparsely populated Upper Arunachal areas, ideal for tourism, projecting increased traffic due to burgeoning tourism in the future, Gadkari added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu today said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, massive developmental activities are being undertaken to strengthen the border infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh.
Welcoming the latest development, Khandu stated in a social media post: “Grateful to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Ji for approving Rs 6728.33 crore for the construction of eight stretches on NH-913 (Frontier Highway) as an Intermediate Lane Road, spanning 305.50 km.
This road will enhance connectivity in border areas, generate livelihood opportunities, and curb migration. By establishing linkages, the road will pave the way for development of numerous hydropower projects in the State.”
