Cooperative movement vital for rural prosperity: Vanlalruata

Aizawl, Dec 5 (UNI) Mizoram’s Minister for Cooperation, Agriculture, Irrigation, and Water Resources, P.C. Vanlalruata, on Thursday stressed the importance of the cooperative movement in driving rural prosperity.
Speaking at the launch of the State-Level Campaign on “Cooperation Among Cooperatives” at the SIRD Campus in Durtlang, here, the minister highlighted Mizoram’s untapped potential in expanding cooperative coverage.
Currently, only 4% of Mizoram’s population is involved in cooperatives, compared to 12-26% in other northeastern states, Vanlalruata noted. He also outlined nationwide efforts to form over two lakh Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (MPACS) and Mizoram’s specific plans to establish MPACS in 750 uncovered villages. The minister urged all stakeholders to collaborate towards achieving "Sahkar se Samriddhi" (Prosperity through Cooperation).

Imphal, Jan 25 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh distributed advanced prosthetic devices including State-of-the-Art Myoelectric Hands and Motorized Wheelchairs, to persons with Disabilities (PwDs) at the Secretariat on Saturday.
The Chief Minister stated that after the formation of the BJP-led government in 2017, the government has been launching various schemes to aid the marginal section of society and to assist persons with disability. He spoke on schemes including Chief Minister-gi Hakselgi Tengbang (CMHT), Chief Minister-gi Sotharabasingi Tengbang and School Fagathansi Mission among others.
