16.97 pc casting in first two hours in East Tripura

Agartala, April 26 (UNI) Tripura East (ST) parliamentary constituency has registered 16.97 percent of 13,96,761 voters exercised their franchise in first two hours during second phase of Lok Sabha elections amid allegations of preventing the agents of the opposition party and voters mainly in Khowai and Dhalai district.
Voting across 1664 polling stations began at 7 AM where 13,96,761 electors, including 6,94,237 females, and 14 transgenders, will decide the fate of nine candidates.
Around 72 voters living beyond wire fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Maguruli village of Kailashahar under Unokoti district have queued up to cast their votes.
