ECI suggests Bengal Guv not to visit Cooch Behar during polling on Apr 19

Kolkata, Apr 17 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has suggested West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose not to visit poll- bound Cooch Behar as his traveling to northern district may invite violation of already enforced Model Code of Conduct for the first phase voting on April 19.
Bose had planned to travel to the sensitive border district during the polling day as the district had witnessed widespread violence in which four people were killed when armed Central forces opened fire to prevent looting of EVMs at Sitalkuchi.
Voting is scheduled on Friday and the 48-hour silence period is already effected as campaigning ended this evening.
