Jhanjharpur, Apr 29 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday dubbed Congress as anti-backwards, saying the party had kept Kaka Kalekar Committee and Mandal Commission reports in cold storage while it was in power.
Shah while addressing a public meeting in favour of the NDA candidate here for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, said that Other Backward Classes(OBCs) would have got a reservation in 1957 itself, had Congress then in power at the Centre , not put the Kaka Kalekar Committee report in cold storage. Similarly, Congress had also vigorously opposed the implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations while the party was in opposition in 1990, he pointed out.
"The only motive of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is to make her son Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister while RJD chief Lalu Prasad is trying to make his son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, Chief Minister of Bihar", Union Minister and senior BJP leader said adding that both Congress and RJD were strongly promoting dynastic politics in the country.
What people could expect for themselves from Congress and RJD, if leaders of both the parties were indulged in promoting their sons, daughters and son-in-laws, he asked.
Shah said that Congress and RJD leaders were deeply submerged in corruption. RJD chief Lalu Prasad was involved in fodder scam while he was Chief Minister of Bihar and he was also involved in land for job scam during his tenure as Railway Minister. Narendra Modi's government would not tolerate corruption at all and strong action was being taken against those found indulged in corruption cases, he further said and asked the people whether action should be taken against corrupt leaders or not, getting huge response in affirmative from them.
BJP leader said that veteran socialist leader Karpoori Thakur was not given due honour by Congress and RJD when the parties were at the helm of affairs at the Centre. It was Narendra Modi government who had given Bharat Ratna award to Karpoori Thakur, he added.
Shah said that INDIA bloc was destined to taste a huge defeat in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. If unfortunately, and its chance is very slim, INDIA bloc was voted to power, no leader among them could be the next Prime Minister of the country, he pointed out.
" I had once heard that top leaders of the INDIA bloc would become Prime Minister for one year each by turn", BJP leader said adding that Sharad Pawar, Lalu Prasad , Mamata Banerjee, M K Stalin and Rahul Gandhi at last would become Prime Minister for a short tenure. There was a need of strong government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not a weak government of INDIA bloc, he maintained.
Shah exhorted the people to ensure victories of NDA in all forty Lok Sabha seats of Bihar. He also said that Prime Minister Modi would again become Prime Minister with support of more than 400 MPs after ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
