Bihar GA will roll out Old Pension Scheme for govt employees if voted to power: Tejashwi

Patna, Oct 28 (UNI) RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav today said the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) would be launched for government employees in Bihar, if the Grand Alliance was voted to power in the ongoing assembly elections.
Yadav, after releasing the manifesto of the Grand Alliance, told media persons here that the OPS will benefit a large number of government employees, as the existing National Pension Scheme (NPS) has withdrawn lots of benefits of the OPS.
As it is, the OPS had been stopped for those who joined government services on or after April 1, 2004, and the NPS was launched for them. Government employees had been demanding relaunch of the OPS in almost all states across the country.

Odisha to set up cold storage units for Rs 252 crore to prevent spoilage of perishable agro produce

Bhubaneswar, Dec 13 (UNI) The Odisha Government has set an ambitious target to establish cold storage units in 58 sub-divisions by 2029–30 fiscal, with a proposed budget outlay of Rs 252 crore for creating an enabling environment for sustainable Cold Storage growth, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo said here today.
It may be noted here that Odisha, a State largely regulated by agrarian economy, does not have a functional cold store facility, to preserve the perishable agro produce in as many as 14 districts out of 30 revenue districts.

TMC describes stadium chaos as regrettable, points to BJP for 'provocation'

Kolkata, Dec 13 (UNI) West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress on Saturday described the Salt Lake Stadium chaos during Lionel Messi's mega show as deeply regrettable owing to mismanagement by the private organisers and also blamed BJP-backed elements carrying saffron flags for raising "provocative" slogans.
The party in a statement said the incident that unfolded in the stadium today was deeply regrettable and must never be allowed to happen again.
