Mizoram records 719 dengue cases, one death in 2024

Aizawl, Dec 10 (UNI) Mizoram reported 719 dengue cases and one death between January 1 and November 30 this year, according to the state health and family welfare department.
Officials from the State Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (SVBDCP) highlighted that 38 people tested positive for dengue from 173 samples in the last week of November, raising concerns about the disease’s persistence during winter.
Over the past 11 months, 8,562 samples were tested for suspected dengue infections, with Aizawl district accounting for the highest number of cases at 503, followed by Lunglei (176) and Champhai (14).
