Tripura CM urges all-weather multimodal connectivity to boost Northeast development

Agartala, Dec 4 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has called on the central government to prioritize the creation of robust, all-weather multimodal connectivity for the Northeastern region, citing it as critical for unlocking the area’s immense developmental potential.
Speaking at the second meeting of the High-Level Task Force on enhancing logistics, infrastructure, and connectivity in the Northeastern states, held on Thursday in a hybrid format, Dr. Saha highlighted the persistent challenges, ranging from rugged terrain and climate hurdles to over-reliance on the Siliguri Corridor, that continue to impede growth.
The meeting was attended by union Minister of DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, Secretary of Industries and Commerce of Sikkim, along with Senior Officials from the DoNER Ministry and various Northeastern states.
