District Committee to finalise exam and evaluation centres for JAC Secondary & Intermediate Exams 2026

Ranchi, Dec 12 (UNI) The District Selection Committee on Friday convened an important meeting under the chairmanship of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri to finalise examination centres and evaluation centres for the JAC Annual Secondary and Intermediate Examinations 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed that the selection of exam centres must be completely fair and transparent, ensuring no possibility of malpractice or irregularities. He directed that centres be allocated only to schools equipped with adequate classrooms, CCTV cameras, proper lighting, drinking water, and toilet facilities. He also emphasised ensuring smooth accessibility, proper transport arrangements, and robust security at all centres.
The committee reviewed the list of proposed examination centres and decided to make certain changes to prevent inconvenience to students. All officials unanimously affirmed that conducting the 2026 examinations in a transparent, safe, and peaceful manner remains the highest priority of the district administration.

Married woman found dead under suspicious circumstances in Giridih

Giridih, Jan 13 (UNI) A married woman died under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday in Paniyaya village in Giridih. The deceased has been identified as Surajmuni. While her parental family has accused her husband and in-laws of murder, the in-laws have claimed that she died by suicide after consuming poison. Acting on the complaint, police have taken the husband, Ashok Murmu, into custody and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
